Support Local & Live for 2019

We will be back at Calverley Grounds in 2019!

How is the festival funded and run?

In a recent new and very exciting development to the structure of the Local & Live Music Festival, founder and organiser Paul Dunton has joined forces with fellow local musicians Jason Dormon (The Tunbridge Wells Forum), Nigel Bent and Peter Taylor (The Royal Oak Pub) to create an official charity: Local & Live Music.

The charity’s aims and objectives are:

“To promote public appreciation of and education in the arts and music by delivering a free to attend community festival, to include the performance of live original music and spoken word and other music-related educational events and opportunities”

The festival is dependent on funds raised by the charity and a team of dedicated volunteers, event sponsors and donations.  Without event sponsors the Festival cannot take place.  Local & Live provides companies with the opportunity to get involved in the community by supporting an extremely popular and well-attended Festival that generates a considerable amount of good will throughout the area.  What’s more it reaches in excess of 20,000 visitors of the August Bank Holiday weekend as well as extensive exposure prior to and after the event.

Be seen on our Local & Live Screen!

Local & Live Music Festival is happy to announce that our live screen is returning in 2019.

Measuring 14ft by 6ft, this is a fantastic addition to the aesthetics and presentation of the event and it will be positioned directly next to our main stage which means it will be seen by the thousands of festival goers in Calverley Grounds. Local & Live is reaching out to local businesses to support this year’s festival by taking up one of our fantastic advertising opportunities on the screen.

A short history of Local & Live

Founded and organised by local musician, Paul Dunton, Local & Live has grown to become a key event in the Kent musical calendar.  The ethos of the Festival is simple: to create a free community event that provides a platform for local, original music talent across all genres.  Regularly welcoming in excess of 20,000 visitors over the August Bank Holiday, Local & Live has become a firm favourite for not only people local to Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding areas but many visitors to the town as well.

Building on the exceptional growth of the event, Local & Live 2014 moved to a prime town centre location in Calverley Grounds, with an additional Fringe Festival taking place across eight prime venues around the town and will see close to 200 acts performing.

The four-day Festival attracts a wide audience of residents from around the Borough and Festival-goers visiting the town. It draws a true cross section of the population from teens, to couples, families with children, regular music lovers, students and senior citizens – in fact it is for everyone in the community.

Quite simply it is the largest event organised in the town, it is for everyone, it is free and the musical talent is exceptional.
