What a weekend to remember! Local & Live 2008 was a resounding success. A spectacular festival of local original music featuring 52 local (Kent based) acts over 3 ½ days! Even the weather generally behaved itself! "The best thing that has happened to Tunbridge Wells". The Pantiles was Alive and Kicking from Friday till Monday but this was no ordinary gathering of a few cover bands - this was the demonstration of the creativity of this amazing town. 52 acts performed their own songs - and held the audience glued! This is not Suzie Quattro in the high street, or aging rockers knocking out old standards. it was singer songwriters playing their own songs. Approximately 7000 people attended this year's event which was 4000 more then last year. Thanks to the financial support from our headline sponsors Alert 5 and co sponsors; Insafe Ltd and O2, we were able to give away 5000 triple disc cd's featuring one track from all the 52 participating artists and one track from the late Ollie Nicholls. In addition to 4000 Local & Live magazines detailing the order of performance and everything you need to know about Local & Live.

Tunbridge Wells has a history of creativity - artists, musicians, advertising agencies for that matter but what is happening here is a accumulation of generations of influence and mark my words it is only a matter of time before this thriving music scene breaks through and we will all claim to have been there on the pantiles before they were famous.

There is a music scene, but now its out in the open. This is just the start; this town is bursting with talent, with new music, with songwriters and incredible musicians. Welcome to The Spa Town Sound.Welcome to Local & Live!
