And we’re off! Enjoy the weekend!

May 31st: Annaca, Marie White and Chameleon

The Local & Live Sessions at Trinity Theatre, Saturday May 31st

Doors 7pm, music from 8pm.

The next Local & Live Sessions takes place on Saturday May 31st and features popular local artists Annaca, Marie White and Chameleon.

Paul says:

Annaca is superb singer and songwriter. She performs by herself on the piano as well as with her four-piece band that include Leo Humphries, Samuel Harrison and Ben Bashi. The music is very soulful and jazzy, with a playful electronic edge. There is a dramatic and theatrical essence about the music and performance Annaca and her band give out, having been described by the Emerging Icons as “a whirlwind of bright colours and rich, velvety sound.

In Dec 2013 Annaca won a competition hosted by Dawsons Music and Yamaha Pianos whereby she was chosen by Jools Holland himself to open up his live show at the O2 Apollo in Manchester. Marie White has a beautiful soulful tone with fabulous range and control. Her songwriting style is reminiscent of Tracey Chapman, with elements of Macy Gray, Billie Holliday and Joni Mitchell contained within her unique style. Her new band has been especially formed to showcase the full potential of her unique music. The band includes backing vocals by the deeply talented Lily and Jessie Denning.

Chameleon are the most talented young band I have ever showcased, with a style and live sound that could be described as Brand New Heavies having a jam with Jamiroquai! Singer Jenni’s warm soulful voice together with versatile guitarists Ben and Sam create an enticing funk rock feel that is driven by the strong rhythm section of Theo (Drums) and Isaac (Bass). The band has developed its own style, influenced by the likes of Herbie Hancock, Oli Brown, Jimi Hendrix and The Raconteurs.

Running order:

  • 8pm – Chameleon
  • 9pm – Marie White + Band
  • 10pm – Annaca (full band show)
